Bullying Prevention Resources

Bullying Prevention Month

“Bullying refers to severe, systematic, or repeated actions that involve the threatened, attempted, or actual infliction of physical harm or psychological/emotional distress on one or more students, staff, or other persons” (411 Student Harassment and Bullying.docx, n.d., p. 1).

Kids who bully often over use their power. This is done through aggressive acts, teasing or embarrassing others and the use of popularity to harm others. Power imbalances can occur in many different settings and often become repetitive. Skills like problem solving, showing empathy, controlling emotions, and resolving conflicts will help students be more successful, both personally and while interacting socially, helping to prevent and eradicate bullying and this misuse of power.
