Extended Day Program

At Wazoson, the Extended Day Program (EDP) is managed by The Early Learning Department of our school board and run by our own Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECE's).  These RECE's spend the school day educating kindergarten students at WPS.

The Extended Day Program operates from 7:00 a.m. to the start of school and from the end of school until 6:00 p.m.

Parents may register their child for the morning, afternoon, or for both.

The affordable and high-quality program will run on all school days and be available for select professional activity days.

My kindergarten aged child is enrolled in EDP - what does that mean?

Morning EDP - Prior to the beginning of morning yard supervision (9:05), students will brought to the kindergarten yard where they will enjoy supervised playtime before their educators meet them to start the day.

Afternoon EDP - At the end of the day (3:50), students are dropped off  in the kindergarten yard with the PM educators. This not only ensures a seamless transition, but allows the kindergarten educators to share any significant information from the child's day. Students are most likely paired in a group with one of their educators from their classroom.

Rivermist Early Learning Centre - Opening Sept 2024

Rivermist Early Learning Centre will operate a toddler room of 15 children (18 months to 2.5 years) and a preschool room of 24 children (2.5 years until they start kindergarten).  Learn more about the Center in this Introductory Letter or by visiting their website - www.childrensvillage.on.ca

The new daycare opening is physically linked to Wazoson Public School, providing a seamless drop off opportunity for families with younger siblings at the daycare.
