At Wazoson, we have 6 different kindergarten classrooms.
All of our kindergarten classes are large rooms, with several windows to provide natural light. They are equipped with child size sinks, a bathroom (toilet and sink), and a door that connects to the adjacent classroom. We have cubbies in the classroom for bags and shoes, as well as hooks & shelves in the hallway for student's outdoor clothing.
Each classroom has designated learning areas such as the dramatic play, quiet area, reading, block and art centre. Tabletops are set up daily for math, literacy, fine motor, discovery and small world play invitations. Educators plan purposeful play provocations and invitations based on student's interests, links to curriculum goals and student ability.

"A growing body of research suggests that connecting to the natural world contributes to children's mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health and well-being (Louv, 2005)."
At Wazoson, we value the importance of learning in the outdoors and are fortunate to have a kindergarten yard as well as use of an outdoor classroom. Learning in the outdoors is included as part of the instructional day. Our educators play an active role engaging with children in an inquiry stance as they play, explore, and learn together outdoors.
