Welcome to Wazoson PS!
We are an Ottawa District School Board (OCDSB) school located in the ever growing community of Half Moon Bay in Barrhaven. Wazoson is located on unceded, unsurrendered Algonquin territory. We thank the Algonquin Nation for hosting us and recognize their enduring presence on this land.
Wazoson is a brand new school, opening in September 2023 , in our permanent location as of January 2024. Wazoson is home to around 600 students from a diverse range of backgrounds and communities. Wazoson is very much a community school, with an active and engaged parent council and community who work together with staff to provide students with a well rounded learning experience.
At Wazoson we offer:
Full-day Bilingual Kindergarten (JK-SK): 50% English instruction and 50% French instruction.
English Program with Core French (Grades 1-6): Instruction in the English language in all subject areas including Core French (40 minutes daily).
Early French Immersion (Grades 1-6): In grade 1, students receive 80% of instruction in French. In grades 2-5, students receive 60% of instruction in French.
