Central Co-op Opportunities
Ottawa Police Services - Co-op Program
This is for 2025 winter-spring placement
Students typically work half days (3 hours daily), 5 days per week (15 hours weekly)
All students will go through a competition process to be placed with a coop program
They will be assigned a day/afternoon shift for in-person roles only
Selection process:
Every student must submit their Resume and 1-2 recommendation letters along with their application
Candidates considered for placement will also be subject to a Background Check
Please note that the applicants will not proceed to an interview if the required documentation is incomplete

EntourAGE - Co-op Program
EntourAGE is a person-centred intergenerational volunteer program where individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias can engage in one-on-one interactions with high school, college and university students, called “Companions”. The co-op program is being implemented in four different settings: community, community service, retirement homes and long-term care homes.

Local 93 - Central Co-op Program
Local 93 is open to a collaboration that allows 10-15 students to be placed through the Carpenter’s Union for co-op. This partnership will also allow for students to earn industry certifications at a reduced cost, with hopes that students will become industry-ready prior to beginning co-op. The goal is for students to have a successful co-op experience at the late stages of their high schooling and transition to an apprenticeship at the conclusion.
Ideal Candidate:
Grade 12 graduating student
Enrolled in 4 credit co-op Sem 2
Previous trades or OYAP experience
CODER SPORTS

We will be providing the co-op students with options to work in three tracks this year.
Computer Science CSP exam and/or the AP CS A exam - Evaluate, complete, and adpat open source courseware for the Advanced Placement Students in this track will be expected to work in teams to review and complete provided approved AP courseware. If permitted by your school, they may wish to attend the AP exam.
Discover Coding hands on workshops - Develop and deliver 90 minute coding workshops for children in grades JK to 6 at select elementary schools in Ottawa.
Creative Arts and Video Production - Students will create entertaining coding educational video content for young children. No STEM knowledge required - Interest in performance and creative arts essential. All students will learn the basics of block based coding in Scratch or Microsoft MakeCode and coding lesson materials will be provided.
