FOCUS ACTIVITIES FOR THIS WEEK:


  • GOOGLE MEET:

For our French Google Meet this week, we will be playing Animal BINGO. Please have your child prepare the BINGO card before our meeting.

  • Print off this BINGO card or draw a 5x5 grid on a piece of paper you have at home.

  • Write 24 of THESE ANIMALS randomly on the card, with a free space in the middle.

  • Gather some loose pieces (i.e., Lego, Rainbow Loom elastics, beads, rocks, etc. ) to use as the counters.


  • ENGLISH:

    1. Listen to Ms Reichert read the end of Love That Dog

    2. Review the feedback from Ms. Reichert for your Love that poem from last week

    3. Read Love that Dog by Jack inspired by Mr. Walter Dean Myers

FOCUS ACTIVITIES FOR THIS WEEK:


  • GOOGLE MEET:

For our French Google Meet this week, we will be playing a game called “Qui est-ce?”

Before our meeting please have your child prepare the following:

  • Choose an animal to describe. It can be a stuffy, a pet, or a drawing.

  • Create 3 clues to share with the class. These clues can be the type of animal (i.e., un mammifère, un oiseau, un reptile), the colour of the animal (i.e., des rayures orange et noires, des plumes noires et blanches), where this animal lives (i.e., à la ferme, en Afrique, chez moi), what it eats or anything else you would like to use.

  • Be prepared to read your 3 clues to the class and to show your animal to the class after a few guesses.

  • ENGLISH:

    1. Listen to Ms Reichert read the next section of Love That Dog

    2. Read the feedback from Ms. Reichert for your small poem from last week

    3. Read The Apple by S.C. Rigg

    4. Create your own shape poem using plain white paper, pencil and coloured markers

    2. Review the new poem by Robert Frost The Pasture

    3. Read the feedback from Ms. Reichert for your questions for the Poem Review from last week

  • GOOGLE MEET:

  • ENGLISH:

  • Check out the new activities posted under all subject tabs at the top of the site and learn how to navigate this site (i.e., clicking on embedded links, making copies of documents, printing activity sheets).


  • Create a schedule to determine what activities to do in a day.

Finding a balance of:

  • Daily household chores (i.e., get dressed, clean your room, make lunch, etc.)

  • Learning time (i.e., choose 2 activities to do each day from the French, English or Math sections on the website)

  • Creative time (i.e., choose 1-2 activities from the Science, Social Studies or Makerspace/Art sections on the website)

  • Outdoor Time or Movement (i.e., find time to get outside and play or use one of the activities from the Movement section on the website)

  • Find time to get together as a family, engage in free play or free technology time that is suitable for your child and your family’s needs

We want to welcome you to a new format for learning. We understand that your days are busy with many of you working from home and we intend to keep our structure flexible while providing some ideas for student learning while at home. We have created this site as a grab-and-go tool. These activities are optional and are meant to help students continue developing, practicing and extending their skills. At this point, no activities are being evaluated.
