At the end of the first and second years of enrollment, the TIMARA faculty will meet with each student individually to review progress toward completion of the major.
The TIMARA faculty will determine whether the student is making satisfactory or unsatisfactory progress. If the department determines that a student is not making appropriate progress within the major, the student may be refused continuance in the program. If students are denied continuation in a major, they are permitted to enroll for the following semester for the purpose of finding a new major; more than one semester of enrollment without a major is not permitted. Options may include a different Conservatory Major with a TIMARA Minor, or an Individual Major, or a College Musical Studies Major.
The TIMARA faculty will consider progress in the following areas:
2. Non-course Requirements (performance and concert assistance)
• Assisted two recital concerts for first-year students
• Two concert performances for second-year students
3. Active participation in the greater artistic community (attendance and performance)
• Creative projects outside of class
• Engagement with new music and related events
4. Portfolio
• All work clearly identified and professionally labeled
• All work provided in hard copy (see list below)
• All work also provided in soft copy (PDF, HTML, etc.) on TIMARA server
Portfolio materials should be contained within a large folder or organizer and should contain the following:
• Table of contents
