The links and information below are organized in this order, with information about how to access the modules  and upload your certificate to Oakmont,  followed by information about how we can all implement SOR with fidelity.

Oakmont Science of Reading PD Instructions 2026-2027

(Updated 7/20/26 with Ohio Learn instructions) 

Ohio Learn Instructions

The required Science of Reading professional development modules have been moved from their previous location in Ohio's Learning Management System to a new platform called Ohio Learn. The video and document below provide instructions for how to access them. It is recommended for all teachers who still need to complete the Science of Reading to do so before summer break. 

NOTES: 

1. If you already submitted your certificate, you do NOT need to submit it again. The following instructions are for teachers new to Oakmont, or for teachers who did not complete the training yet. 

2. There are no stipends from ODE for Science of Reading PD this year.

3. For teachers who completed SOR in the 24-25 school year, you are required to take the Refresher Course 5 years from the date you completed the Introduction Course, so check back with Emily closer to the 29-30 school year. 

To submit your SOR certificate, please upload it on the Google Form below.

Implementing the Science of Reading in the classroom

The following practice guides have been published by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce to guide schools, teachers, and administrators in best practices to consider when implementing Ohio's Science of Reading practices. 

Resources from SST3 Literacy Improvement Pathway

School and building leaders have an enormous impact on what gets implemented with fidelity in classrooms. Literacy Academy On-Demand

Although not every staff member is required to complete the modules released by the state throught the Learning Management System, all staff should be knowledgeable about ways to contribute to improved literacy for our students. All hands on deck!
