All Oakmont Employees who hold a 5-year professional teaching license (K-12 Teaching, Admin/Principal, or CTE) have the opportunity to belong to Oakmont's LPDC to facilitate renewal of their license.
To renew a license, teachers must complete 180 Contact Hours within the 5 years of their license. The Local Professional Development Committee works with teachers to help facilitate this process.
Each school has an LPDC Representative who meets with the Oakmont LPDC four times per year to approve IPDPs and PD for teachers. The school LPDC Rep also works with teachers in the school to support them in understanding licensure requirements. For more information about teacher and representative roles and responsibilities, please see the slideshow at the bottom of the page titled "Introductory Training for Establishing and Maintaining LPDCs."
NOTE-- the 24-25 IPDP Form is closed for the year. If you would like to submit your IPDP, please fill out the 25-26 school year form, and your IPDP will be evaluated for approval at our first LPDC meeting of the year in September 2025.

PD Hours Conversion Chart
Teachers with a 5-year professional license need 180 Contact Hours to renew their license.
Sample PD Tracking Log for Teachers
Every five years, teachers in Ohio with 5-year Professional Licenses need to complete 180 Contact Hours of Professional Development in order to renew their license. When a teacher submits their renewal application, ODEW does check with the Local Professional Development Committee to certify the the teacher has had 180 hours approved. To this end, the LPDC does track hours for the teachers in our committee. Best practice always recommends, though, that Individual Teachers also keep track of their approved hours. This is a sample tracking sheet teachers can use to track their hours.

Leaving LPDC Hours Verification Form
Teachers who hold a 5-year professional license and are hired into Oakmont with hours already accrued at a previous school or district need to submit the Educator Leaving an LPDC Verification Form. We cannot accept individual trainings or PD completed while the teacher was at another school into our LPDC, but we DO accept the total number of hours from that school's LPDC. It is the educator's responsibility to reach out to their previous school and request this form. We recommend doing this as soon as possible, but if a teacher is having trouble getting their previous school to provide this form, please reach out to Ali and Emily so we can work with the teacher.
Contact Hour Verification Form
This is a sample form a teacher can send to a presenter or trainer for a PD they attended that did not issue a certificate. The teacher should upload this completed form with a signature from the presenter and the amount of Contact Hours accrued into the PD Submission Google Form for approval in lieu of a certificate.
Verification for Consistently High Performing Teachers
This form is available for educators who meet the criteria listed.
