Dr. "Joey" Alan Le
What traditions have shaped your sense of the really big picture?
What is your sense of where we are?
What stories shape your sense of the world and your place in it?
What is the world to you? A vast universe? God’s creation? A network of mutual interdependence? Something else?
How do you feel when you think about the world and your place in it? Do you feel small? Loved? Fragile? Responsible? Grateful? (All of the above?)
What do you feel compelled to do when you think about the world in the context of the really big picture as you see it? What actions seem to fall under your responsibility?
What is your sense of who we are?
What stories shape your sense of what it is to be a human being?
What are human beings to you? Evolutionary accidents? The universe becoming aware of itself? Beloved creatures? Younger siblings to nonhuman species?
How d you feel when you think about human beings in the way you just described?
How do you understand our relationship as human beings with nonhuman life?
What do you feel compelled to do when you think about human beings in the context of the really big picture as you see it? What actions seem to fall under your responsibility?
