Demonstrate advanced clinical knowledge and leadership skills on client safety through disseminating information to practicing clinicians and professionals within the emergency management community.
Systematic Review
After addressing my work colleagues and the emergency management community, I shifted focus to consider engaging with the academic community. For my systematic review, I aimed to examine the following PICO question: “What are the effective methods for service delivery approaches for pre-discharge caregiver education and training on ADL performance among stroke survivors?”
While researching evidence-based materials, it became apparent that my systematic review's identified methods displayed a low strength of evidence (e.g., hands-on skill training with the stroke survivor and caregiver, combination of hands-on skill training with the stroke survivor and caregiver and multimedia or written resources distributed, and a combination of in-person seminar with multimedia or written resources distributed). This led me to brainstorm further research possibilities. Therefore, my review highlighted the need for additional research to offer clearer recommendations for future practice. It emphasized the necessity for well-designed studies with quality outcome measures to draw more decisive clinical recommendations in the future.
