Lafayette Hall is located at 87 White Street, New York, NY 10013.
Check-in will begin at 9:00 AM on your respective reservation start date. Most residents are scheduled to check-in on either May 25th or June 1st.
There are three simple steps to checking in:
Come through the front door entrance on White Street, and make your way to the lounge - all the way at the end of the hallways.
Provide your ID to the paraprofessionals at the check-in desk. They will use this to find your registration card and keys.
Sign for your keys on the registration card. You're DONE! You may now make your way to your room on the upper floors.
If residents would like a rolling moving-cart to help transport items to their room (or from the car on the street to their room), they should provide a government or university-issued ID with the hall team at the Resource Center while using the moving-cart. The ID will be returned when the cart is returned.
If you've submitted your photo in advance, your NYU ID Card should be issued to you when you arrive at your residence hall. If your card is not available upon arrival, you will be issued a temporary ID card and should report to the NYU Card Center as soon as you are able.
NYU ID Cards may be picked up at the NYU Card Center:
The Card Center is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Have your NYU ID with you at ALL TIMES, as you will need this to access Lafayette Hall and all other university buildings. The N-number on the back of your ID is your personal identification number at NYU.
While we prefer that you check in during RC hours, we understand this is not always possible. Someone will be available 24/7 to assist you with collecting your apartment and mailbox keys. Anytime you first arrive at Lafayette to move in, we have a paraprofessional team member at home --if not an entire team -- ready to allow you access to your space. However, if you would like to use one of our moving carts, those may only be obtained during normal operating hours. See "Resource Center (RC)" for operating hours.
