What has compost got to do with biodiversity and being sustainable?
Earth is off-balance, we are in a climate crisis, and biodiversity is decreasing. We need to stand for what we believe in. Food Citizen believes that composting is an under-rated climate action that every individual can be a part of. Ms Chen Chingwei and Ms Pui Cuifen will share about how they make compost using natural approaches. When compost is applied right, it encourages biodiversity in the soil. Compost enables symbiotic relationships between plants and soil microbes, and thus, plays an important role in keeping atmospheric carbon in the soil. In composting, no one species is a superhero - we need a whole ecosystem of different organisms with different niches to work together.
