About Mrs. Fornauf

I  graduated from Saucon Valley and then attended Shippensburg University where I received my Elementary Education degree.  After graduating in 1991, I was hired at Northwestern Lehigh as a 5th grade teacher.  During those early years I attended Kutztown University to receive my Master's Degree in Education.   I began my teaching career at Weisenberg Elementary, as the middle school hadn't opened yet.  The following year the middle school opened with grades 5-8.  I spent the next 17 years in 5th grade at the new middle school.  When 5th grade returned to the elementary level I spent two years at Northwestern Elementary.  In 2011 I returned to the middle school as a 6th grade math/science teacher on the Pathfinder team.

As I was accustomed to fifth graders entering the middle school, I am excited to once again be on the receiving end of the sixth graders moving up to the middle school.  This is a time of transition full of both excitement and anxiety.  I look forward to helping your child make this transition smoothly.  This age is so fun - curious, investigative, playful, independent, social, the list goes on, and the middle school provides many opportunities for your child to become involved in a wide range of activites.  These are the years to try something new!

My husband and I loved the New Tripoli area and decided to build a house here in 2007.  We have one daughter, who graduated from NWL, from Temple University in 2021 and from Ohio University with her MBA in 2022. She currently works for Kutztown University in their athletics department, works at HOPS, and coaches XC at NWL. We also have one son, who is at the high school as a 10th grader this year.   We have a black lab named Rocco, two ferrets named Noodles and Chocolate, and my daughter's cat, Nando.
