Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers has a variety of foods from steakburgers to sundaes; In-N-Out has cheap and delicious food from burgers to shakes. Now here’s the question, which one’s better? Well, In-N-Out’s fresh and cheap burgers, fries, and shakes make the fast-food restaurant unforgettable and one of the best in the burger industry.
On the other hand, Freddy’s has more of a variety of foods on their menu. Their large menu includes hot dogs, and burgers, to custards, and sundaes. According to the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN), “Freddy’s is a fast casual restaurant chain that specializes in various sandwiches and burgers, as well as frozen custard.” People enjoy having many different options to choose from because it allows them to expand their horizons and try new things.

Both burger joints are popular and serve delicious food; but which one is really the best?
Although Freddy’s has a large menu with a lot of different items, In-N-Out is known for its small and simple, yet fresh, menu. In-N-Out became a big success with its fresh and tasty hand-made food. “In addition to serving hand-cut fries made from fresh potatoes every day, In-N-Out uses local meat on its burgers, with no additives or preservatives,” says editor Mike McPhate from the California Sun after doing some studying and researching.
Furthermore, this fast-food restaurant does not freeze their food, so you always know that it’s fresh. Farms ship their food and potatoes to In-N-Out just for the delightful taste of fresh, hand-cut burgers, fries, and shakes that we can enjoy. In-N-Out is also well-known for its simple and limited menu. It speeds up the ordering, and people don’t have to think or contemplate between multiple items. With limited and cheaper menus, In-N-Out is a very popular fast-food restaurant.
In addition to In-N-Out’s fresh menu, they are cheaper. The fast-food restaurant is rated to be about four and a half stars and it has really good reviews. “The restaurant’s burgers rank among the top in the industry, which is surprising considering In-N-Out prices are some of the cheapest in the industry as well,” said Bacic Media Group (LLC), a publishing agency sharing knowledge about consumer education that benefits the general public and consumer choice.
In-N-Out is the traditional and delicious fast food restaurant that has something every burger lover will enjoy: fresh and simple ingredients.

When the question Coke or Pepsi is asked, many gravitate toward Coke. Coke was established first, has a less tangy taste, and it is healthier. Coke is all around better than Pepsi.
Pepsi has less sodium than Coke. This gives Pepsi more of a bluntly sweet taste. According to Wide Open Eats, “Pepsi is sweeter than Coke so right away it had a big advantage in a sip taste when put to the test.” Although Pepsi is sweeter, it contains a lot more citric acid, therefore, making it much more of a tangy drink.
Coke is better tasting than Pepsi. Coke has a vanilla-raisin taste while Pepsi tastes of citrus. People either love or hate citrus, while most people love the taste of vanilla. Vanilla is more of a subtle and popular flavor that most people are used to. The taste of citrus may make some quench and some crave Pepsi. Therefore many more people are used to and are going to love Coke.
Coke is also healthier. It has less sugar, calories, and caffeine than Pepsi, resulting in Coke being the healthier choice. According to a poll taken by 72 Bob Miller students, only 16.7% of students would prefer Pepsi. That means 83.3% of students chose Coke. Overall, Coke is the healthier and better tasting choice.
Coke-a-Cola spends nearly $4 billion on advertising in a year while Pepsi spends $2.5 billion on advertising each year (www.investopedia.com). This makes Coke the more well known soft drink.

There has been an ongoing battle between the flavors of Coke and Pepsi.
The more money spent on advertising and publicity means the more eyes to see your product. The more eyes that recognize your product, the more product you will sell. Also, Coke dates back to 1886 while Pepsi was first heard of in 1903 when it became an official trademark. Due to this, people of the older generation are more likely to drink Coke.
Coke is healthier, better tasting, and more family oriented than Pepsi. Next time you order a soft drink, take a second and think about what your choice will be, for most this is Coke but for some this may be Pepsi.

When it comes to straws, how bad are they affecting the environment today? The straws can cause health problems and can harm the environment for hundreds of years.
Some people like straws because, “Using a drinking straw can seriously help protect your teeth staining that happens from long-term exposure to dark-colored foods and drinks” (Johnston Dental). Also by using a straw you can control how much you drink.
Many restaurants set a straw down with your drink. Recently, some restaurants have started cutting down the straw usage because it is estimated that plastic is 7.5 percent of the environment. “A recent report by the World Economic Forum projects that by the year 2050 the plastics in our oceans will outweigh the fish” ( The Washington Post).
Plastic straws actually have a very short lifespan because they are only used once then moved to landfills. The straws take hundreds of years to break down. Since the plastic straws are only used once they are ending up in the ocean by the thousands.
There are many reasons why the straws are bad for the human body. One reason is that they give a lot more than a sip of soda. When you drink out of the straw you drink more than you would without it.

Straws are causing a lot of waste in the ocean.
Most of the single use straws are made from polypropylene, which is made from petroleum. But there is evidence that the polypropylene can get from the straw to the liquid. This can cause more teeth damage like cavities. Drinking through a straw can get more air into the digestive system. That means that it will increase the gas and bloating from whatever you're drinking.
People can help by after using a straw throw it in the recycling because when it goes to the trash it just goes to a landfill and sits there until decomposed.

As health problems and obesity percentages rise, the world of weight-loss diets are insanely popular. One diet that is grabbing everyone’s attention is one that focuses on protein and centers on fat, the Keto diet. Although, this diet may seem like the perfect way to lose weight, it comes with many risks and is not the type of diet to try as an experiment.
The Keto diet may seem like a diet recently invented, but is actually one that has been used for almost 100 years as a way to treat drug resistant epilepsy. Nowadays, this diet has helped many patients with health issues such as diabetes. “A Ketogenic state has shown promise in improving human glucose control and decreasing the need for diabetes” (www.health.harvard.edu). Although this diet has helped many people lose weight and be healthier, studies show that an average person on this diet could come with risks such as nutrient deficiency, liver and kidney problems, nausea, and many more.
This Keto diet works by switching your body to use a different type of fuel known as Ketones, which uses stored fat in the liver as a type of fuel. A normal body uses glucose or sugar that comes from carbohydrates. Reaching a state of ketosis is difficult and requires one to strip themselves of any carbs. A ketogenic diet requires lots of protein and fats and some foods eaten on the ketogenic diet include: meats, eggs, sausages, cheeses, fish, nuts, butter, oils, seeds, and vegetables. According to Marcelo Campos from Harvard Health Publishing, “Because it (the Keto diet) is so restrictive, it is really hard to follow over the long run.” Not only is the diet restrictive, but is very heavy on unhealthy foods such as red meats, and other processed, salty foods, which can be very hard on the human body.
Even though the Keto diet has been around for almost 100 years, very little research has been done, and experts don’t know if it works in the long-term or if it’s even safe. However, experts do know that the transition back to a normal, western diet should be gradual and controlled because the weight will most likely return if otherwise. Even with a well controlled transition, sometimes the weight that was lost will still come back over time. That’s the problem with diets with a low carb intake. The diet will help lose weight faster than a traditional low-fat diet, but as Marcelo Campos said, “that difference in weight loss seems to disappear over time.”
Instead of diets (such as the Keto diet) that only last for a couple weeks to a couple months, people should try diets that will be sustainable in the long-term. This includes a very balanced diet that is low in fat, but has an abundance of colorful fruits and vegetables, lean meats, fish, whole grains, nuts, seeds, and lots of water. Though, diets like this won’t get rapid results, it is proven to make people feel better and live a better lifestyle. It also seems to be the key to a long, healthy, and energetic life.
