“I scream, You scream, We all scream for ice cream!" and this isn’t a lie. The first bite melts in your mouth like butter, with the creamy soft texture and icy chilling taste. This tasty treat has always been a fan favorite, since its appearance over sixteen centuries ago. With the endless amount of flavors and cold texture, ice cream is great anytime.
Some people argue that ice cream isn’t healthy and opt to eat frozen yogurt instead. ½ a cup of frozen yogurt is 159 calories, 6 grams of fat, 24 grams of sugar and 24 grams of carbohydrates (wikipedia.com). While ½ a cup of ice cream is 207 calories, 11 grams of fat, 21 grams of sugar, and 24 grams of carbohydrates (wikipedia.com). It is true that ice cream contains more fat and calories, due to the increased sugar and heavy cream; however, just minimizing your portions, or buying a low fat ice cream, you can reduce the amount of fat and calories you consume.
Rachel Rademacher, manager of Orange Leaf, a self-serving treat franchise says, “In our situation, clearly the nutritional aspect is a factor and with the self-serve option the customers have the ability to control how much they want.”
From vanilla to chocolate, rainbow to birthday cake, and even apple cinnamon, there is no end to these tasteful ice cream flavors. “No matter what you like, there will always be an ice cream flavor out there for you” (mymomochi.com).
Miller students enjoy ice cream after a long workout or on a hot summer day. Trinity Buchanan, an 8th grade basketball player said, “ ...ice cream is refreshing after a long hard workout.”
Young athletes need a variation of food choices, that include some fat, in their diet. For 66 grams of ice cream, there is about 7 grams of fat. Ice cream can be a place they choose to get it from, and depending on the product, ice cream can still be a decent source of calcium.
There is always room for dessert and when it comes to sweets, the first thing that comes into mind is ice cream. When conducting a survey, out of the 25 people interviewed, 92% of the people said ice cream is better than frozen yogurt. Which only proves the reason why we all scream for ice cream.

Millions of people go out to eat in a restaurants everyday. Many of these people go to fast food restaurants. Restaurants are a place to enjoy delicious food. However, people should spend time with friends and family. Fast food ruins this experience. Sit down restaurants are a better choice than fast food for various reasons.
Many people argue that sit down restaurants deliver food slowly. Sit down restaurants must take time to prepare healthy and good food for people to eat. Most fast food restaurants have ready made food and it is not fresh. According to researchers, a fresh meal generally supplies more nutrients and healthy fats (Washington Post). Even when sit down restaurants take longer, people can have more time to talk and enjoy time with each other.
Sit down restaurants provide a variety of healthy choices. According to the Food Network, the healthiest dishes are at 30 major sit down restaurants such as Applebee's. This restaurant has a separate menu for healthy choices called the Lighter Fare, which has every dish under 700 calories. Many people can enjoy healthier meals than most fast food restaurants.
Eating healthy, can provide many different nutrients for your body. Additionally, people eating healthy foods have a lowered risk of having a disease. Although McDonald's might be popular, it might not be the healthiest option. A McDonald's Big Mac supplies a person with 540 calories. There are many other choices that are better for a person in a world of restaurants.
Secondly, sit down restaurants provide a cleaner area for people to dine in. Sit down restaurants are a way to enjoy delicious food with friends and family, and to spend quality time with them. Sit down restaurants provide healthy and varied choices for consumers. So next time you go out to eat, choose a sit down restaurant instead of fast food for these reasons.
