Shadows & Silhouettes

This assignment was really fun! It wasn't too complicated, and taking pictures of shadows were pretty interesting. My favorite part was the silhouettes. The beautiful sunrises and sunsets are always different but as each of them change from day to day they got more interesting every time I caught one!

This is by far my top favorite picture! There is a great detail of texture from the leaves on the tree. Another thing is the pattern of the clouds, they appear to be in rows in the sky which I think is pretty cool. Also the light polls in the bottom half kind of fade to the right leading your eyes down the picture.

This picture was pretty cool to me also! The straight railing creates a weird zig zag looking pattern when shadowed. There is also a nice repetition of the different stair levels. And probably my favorite part of this picture is that its mostly made up of a variety of different color greys. Ranging from light to dark and everything in between.

This picture shows a variety of things like, the rule of thirds, horizontal line, and texture. Rule of thirds is created by the tallest part of the building in the far right center of the photo. The horizontal line is created by the catwalk that lies in the center of the photo. Also, I like the texture of the clouds. They look like a variety of colorful smoke in the sky.
