Fast Shutter Speed

This assignment was very difficult in the beginning. I struggled with ideas, shooting angles, and the lighting of the picture. Once i started taking pictures of water it became super easy. I call this the Water Series. Fast shutter speed is probably my favorite assignment so far because capturing waters movement is super cool when you freeze it and you can see the shape it takes on.

This photo was one of my favorite because you can see the movement of the water starting at the top and leading down the leaf kind of like a stream. i also liked the blurred background mixing perfectly with the very focused and crisped leaf.

This is also one of my favorite pictures because the object used was pretty plain, but using it to drop in water and create this effect of seeing the sugar cubes poured in and taking the cool looking shape it has. This picture also follows the rule of thirds by keeping the sugar cubes in the first row and then the glass of water evenly fitting into the lower half of the picture.

Last but not least the hardest picture i've ever tried to take. The lighting was pretty awful in my house but my goal was to capture the beginning sparks of a lighter being lit. The focus is takes your eyes right to the flame being perfectly centered in the middle of the photo.
