Basic Composition

Our first assignment, Basic Composition, was harder than it looks. It took a lot of time and precision to get the right angles and straight lines. Basic Composition is an assignment about the rule of thirds, leading lines, and horizontal lines. It's all about having certain colors, focal points and straight pictures.

This photo shows the balance of different colors, the horizontal line splitting the sky from the ground, while the tree takes up about a third of the picture.

This picture shows the use of the vertical line. Half of the picture is a building and the other half is like nature. This picture also shows the straight lines, using the rule of thirds.

This picture demonstrates the vertical line. It shows a focal point at the end of the hallway, the banner draws everyones attention. This picture also uses the leading line, by leading your eyes through the picture.
