Are you interested in the world of political science? Does the idea of talking to legislators and studying how policy impacts the world around us sound interesting? If so, Global Studies/International Relations is the program for you! Students who major in Global Leadership go on to become politicians, lawyers, and so much more! In this program, students learn about the impact of World and American leaders, both the good and the bad. Students learn about peace and conflict on a local and global scale, and learn to how to become advocates in their communities. This is a rigorous academic program that pushes students to achieve in and out of the classroom and helps them to take positions in their community and beyond as 21st century leaders.
Students who declare this major will learn about the identified personal qualities that will help them to become leaders in their community. They will be taught how successful groups are structured. As they progress, they will begin to understand their place in the local and global community. Students will be challenged by coursework, a 60 hour internship in their chosen major, and thesis they will present before students, faculty, and advisory board members.
During their junior and senior years, the students participate in the annual Global Issues Fair every April.
