Cyber Security

In the Cybersecurity Magnet Program students will learn about the fundamentals of cybersecurity and how this new avenue within all business sectors plays a major role in all facets of our digital society. Students will hone their computer skills and engage in software and hardware applications which means understanding and utilizing code (how to write simple coding software) and understanding hardware operations. Professional ethics, security operations, teamwork, and digital diligence in tune with college & career readiness skills is also a main focus of this program. Participation in the AP exam in Computer Science is expected at the end of the junior or senior year. The senior year has it's focus on an Advanced Study component of the student's choosing (with the approval of the instructor). This is a chance for the student to show their skill and expertise in the realm of the College & Career Readiness component regarding cybersecurity applications in the business sector.
