We like to think of our site-based mentor like marigolds. Marigolds are well-known in the plant world to be one of the best companion plants, protecting other plants around them from harmful pests and weeds. New teachers benefit from a 'marigold' mentor to encourage, nurture, and support them as they grow into their early careers. Check out this article to the left for more information.
