Professional Growth Plan (PGP): System for advancing on the CCSD pay scale. Teachers are able to move a column on the pay scale every three years ( SE TECH is Title III and not eligible for 2 year movement) after accumulating 224 Contact Units (CU’s). Each year teachers must fill out the PGP Form with their administrator. Teachers are also responsible for reading the PGP outline and keeping track of CU’s.
Contact Units (CU’s): A type of credit for participating, creating, or designing various types of professional development outlined in the PGP. This must be documented and submitted online.
Nevada Educator Performance Framework(NEPF): Set of standards that guide evaluations from administration. Standards are split into Instructional Practice and Professional Responsibilities. Educators are evaluated on a 1-4 scale 1 being ineffective and 4 being highly effective. Administration will use the NEPF framework in observations as well as pre- and post-conferences.

Student Learning Goal (SLG)/Professional Practice Goal (PPG): According to the Nevada Department of Education, all educators evaluated with the NEPF are required to set a Student Learning Goal (SLG) and Professional Practice Goal (PPG) as described in the NEPF protocols.
An SLG is a long-term, measurable, academic goal set for students to accomplish by the end of a course. Developing a SLG includes identifying the most important learning content for the year alongside teachers in the same content area (if possible), reviewing student academic data, setting a long term goal for identified students, measuring the long term goal along the way and evaluating student attainment of the goal at or near the end of the school year. Although Nevada law states that the evaluation of a probationary teacher or administrator in his or her initial year of employment as a probationary teacher or administrator must NOT include student performance data, these educators are still required to set an SLG as part of the NEPF protocol.
The Professional Practice Goal (PPG) focuses on the educator’s Instructional (teachers) or Instructional Leadership Practices (administrators) that support the achievement of the SLG.
