1st Violation- Verbally warn the student about the behavior and ask them to please try and stay on task during class time.
2nd Violation- Document behavior as a minor behavior incident in IC and check the box to notify parents.
3rd Violation Call and notify parents of the behavior:
" Hello, this is Mr. Thomas, and I am a teacher at Southeast CTA. I was hoping to reach the parent or guardian of (student's name).
(after confirming)... Hello, I was calling today because I have been concerned about (student's name) behavior in my class and wanted to see if we could set up a plan together so we can be on the same page to ensure your student's success in my class.
The parent will either be supportive, defensive, or may not speak English
Supportive parent- let them know the behaviors you are experiencing and let them know how it affects the student's success and other students in the class. Let them know what you have tried to do to correct the behavior and ask for their help in getting the student back on track.
Defensive parent- let them know the behaviors you have been experiencing and what you have done so far in the classroom to try and correct the student. Let them know that you will update them on their student's behavior via Infinite Campus, and if they would like to set up a conference to meet in person to contact their student's counselor which can be found on the schools website secta.us
Let the parent know that you will email them. Try to use google translate or another source to type an email and send the parent a translated message and document in the contact log if possible.
Upon the set threshold for each minor behavior incident type, students will receive referrals to the administrator over their major.

The code of conduct creates behavior expectations for students and approved discipline practices that can be utilized by school staff.
The document below covers the major disipline concerns that a majoirty of teachers will experience while at TECH and how to handle them.
