While the timeline for final submission to the Nevada Department of Education has not changed, schools will now begin School Performance Planning at the same time as they are working on their budget for the upcoming school year. This is a significant change from past practice. Previously, schools began work on School Performance Plans (SPP) to be implemented during the current school year at the start of the school year in August. By aligning the budget and the SPP, schools can allocate resources in alignment with observed needs from school data, including accountability and survey measures. The strategic budget and the SPP together comprise the school’s Plan of Operation. Principals must work with their School Organizational Teams on the development of the Plan. Please see the School Organizational Teams section for specific details regarding this process.
Principals can access their SPP at ccsdapps.net using their InterAct login credentials and selecting the appropriate SPP template. Principals should contact the School Improvement Department at 702-855-7783 to assign rights to additional users at the school. Users will have full access to edit the SPP, so assigning of rights should be limited. For additional details regarding how to access and fill out the SPP template, resources, and the School Performance Plan User Guide, please visit ccsdschoolimprovement.weebly.com or contact the School Improvement Department at 702-855-7783.
Schools should complete the following sections in January/February along with their Strategic Budget:
Schools should wait until the fall to complete the following sections, due to the timelines for receiving data:
The Nevada Department of Education is currently in the process of making revisions to the current school improvement planning process based upon changes within the State accountability system and to align with the requirements of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). The District template for submitting School Performance Plans will be updated once determinations regarding required elements are finalized.
