I have been teaching at Norris Elementary since 2013, and it has been flying by! I was born and raised in Lincoln, NE. My family consists of my wife, Diana, and our lovely daughter, Lacey.

I love getting to teach the elementary students because a lot of them are trying things that they have never done before. It is a real treat when their eyes light up, or they get an "aha" moment and discover new things through their curiosity.

My goal is to give students independence, as they explore their creativity and choice, while developing important life skills such as problem-solving, collaboration, and innovation. I am not trying to make every student the next big artist, but instead, I want to teach them the lessons of how to think like an artist, and apply those skills whenever possible. I strive to let every student be themselves, and stress the importance of individuality.

Artsonia is a great way to develop an online portfolio for your student, it also doubles as a fundraiser for the school. We are starting to use it more with the students, and have been getting great feedback with the website.
