Harold and the Purple Crayon

After reading the book Harold and the Purple Crayon, students will get a chance to create their very own story with a purple crayon. After combining all of the work, we look as a classroom, at the pieced together artwork that we created. This lesson will connect the book Harold and the Purple Crayon to the students own story. It will also teach the students about collaboration, and how to work together by putting each page together to create a storyline.

Objectives:

• Students will create their own purple crayon story from imagination
• The tables will collaborate to make a story with their drawings

• 8x11 white paper
• Purple Crayons
