September Focus: Skill Review

For the first month of school, we will be reviewing my classroom expectations and some of the important skills we learned last year in 1st grade. Since our computer lab sessions are only once a week, we’ll spend plenty of time reviewing and practicing to ensure everyone feels comfortable and confident in computers.

Last year, our students began quite proficient at using their Chromebooks. We will be spending the next few weeks reviewing how to care for and use our classroom Chromebooks.

The skills we will focus on in second grade include logging in with a username and password, learning some keyboard shortcuts, and learning different multi-touch gestures for the trackpad. These foundational skills are critical as they become more comfortable and proficient with this new technology.
