September Focus: Skill Review

For the first month of school, we will be reviewing my classroom expectations and practicing the skills we learned last year in kindergarten. Since our computer lab sessions are only once a week, we’ll spend plenty of time reviewing and practicing to ensure everyone feels comfortable and confident in computers.

First Grade students will be using Chromebooks. I introduced Chromebooks to Kindergarten towards the end of last school year so they should be somewhat familiar with them. Over the next several weeks, I will be reviewing how to take care of the Chromebooks and how to use them properly.

The skills we will focus on include logging in, learning how to use a trackpad, and how to open and close different programs. These foundational skills are crucial for their success as they become more familiar with this new technology.
