Wayne State College offers more than 200 types of scholarships. Complete the scholarship application process after you apply for admission and are accepted to WSC.
The Admitted Incoming Freshman Scholarship Application is the primary application for first-time freshmen UNK scholarships. It’s available in students’ MyBLUE from August 1 to March 1, and becomes accessible only after being admitted to UNK. By completing this single application, students are considered for most scholarships. However, some scholarships require a separate application, which can be accessed from the list below.
Who can apply for the True Potential Scholarship?
-Immigrants residing in Nebraska and Council Bluffs, Iowa
-Wishing to attend a Community College in Nebraska or Council Bluffs, IA.
The True Potential Scholarship is aimed to help students who want to:
-Work towards a 4 year degree by completing a transfer program at a community college and then going to a university or
-Work towards obtaining a technical degree from a Community College or
-Learn a second language or enroll in any class at a Community College that would help them reach their True Potential.
STEM CONNECT Scholars will be awarded a renewable scholarship, with a maximum of $8,000 per year, up to four years at UNL or two years at SCC or WNCC followed by an additional two years following the student’s transfer to UNL. We hope to offer up to 62 STEM CONNECT Scholarships to first and second-year students between our three campuses.
The application process for the STEM CONNECT scholarship varies between UNL, SCC and WNCC. At UNL, the application for STEM CONNECT is available through the student's MyRed account under the undergraduate admissions tab. This application is open to all applied or current students who will graduate from high school in May 2020 (or before). Applicants enrolling at UNL also must declare a major in mathematics, computer science, computer engineering or software engineering before the scholarship is awarded, in order to be eligible.
Students applying to SCC or WNCC (and not UNL) will apply for the scholarship via the CSMCE application portal at http://go.unl.edu/scimathapply. The same process applies to current students at SCC and WNCC.
Students enrolling at SCC or WNCC need to enter the Academic Transfer program with STEM-focused career goals that include taking either a math or computer science course each semester. Our Frequently Asked Questions site, https://scimath.unl.edu/stem-connect/faq, describes more about how to apply.
To receive one of these scholarships, you must be involved in the Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP) with a National Guard unit while in school, and have a letter of acceptance from a local Guard unit stating that they will accept you in an SMP status. Following graduation, cadets begin a new Military Service Obligation (MSO) contract and serve eight years in the Guard, which includes training.

The high school scholarship program is now open. You must DOWNLOAD AND READ THE APPLICATION GUIDE to confirm eligibility for the 2026 school year. Prospective applicants must intend to enroll college and enter the AFROTC program beginning in the 2026-2027 academic year.
The scholarship application window will be open July 1, 2025 through December 12, 2025. Completion of your junior year of high school is required for all ROTC applications. Please do not start an application before that.
IMPORTANT: Prospective applicants planning to take one or more gap years between high school graduation and college entrance must apply during the cycle for the academic year in which they intend to enroll in college and begin the AFROTC program.

Eligibility Requirements

Nebraska Fur Harvesters is a nonprofit organization that values wildlife management, conservation, and "wise, sustainable use" of wildlife in the state.
We are offering this $500 scholarship to graduating high school seniors who hope to become involved in a career that is related to wildlife management in general, and furbearer management in particular.
Kiwanis is an organization dedicated to serving the children of the world. As a Service Organization, priority is given to scholarship applicants who will be working with children or who will be working in the service of others. Emphasis will also be placed on the financial need of the applicant

CARRIAGE HOUSE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
The JOHNNY BAXTER CARRIAGE HOUSE FOUNDATION is pleased to announce the continuation of its scholarship program for students interested in attending one of Nebraska’s Community Colleges to study in an automotive related field. A $2,000 grant will be awarded in each of the six Community College areas in Nebraska for students pursuing training for an automotive career. Students who meet the following criteria may submit the attached application form:
1. All seniors planning to attend a Nebraska Community College in the fall of 2026.
2. Applicant must be planning to enroll in one of the automotive related courses of study.
3. Applicant must submit a letter of recommendation from at least one teacher describing the applicant’s aptitude and attitude and student must include a transcript of his/her grades.
4. Applicant must submit a cover letter to be attached to the applicant form indicating his/her interest in the automotive field and their plan for technical training.
5. An interview and reference letter from a New Car Dealer would be given additional consideration.
6. Applicant must meet the above criteria and submit his/her application to the Carriage House Foundation no later than Friday, April 3, 2026.
The Lower Elkhorn Natural Resources District has established a scholarship program for graduating high school seniors who are planning to further their education in a natural resources or agriculture related field. To be eligible for a scholarship the student must meet the following criteria:
Must be a graduating high school senior who resides, or whose family owns land, within the Lower Elkhorn Natural Resources District.
Must have an overall grade point average of a 2.0, or higher, on a 4.0 grading scale at the end of the first semester of his/her senior year in high school.
The student must submit a cover letter in addition to the application form.
Must attend an accredited college, community college or vocational school the semester following graduation.
Must direct his/her course study towards curriculum related to natural resources or agriculture.

American Legion Post #16 offers to award at each Norfolk High School one $500.00 scholarship eligible Son or Daughter, or Step-son or Step-daughter, or Grandson or Granddaughter, or Step- grandson or Step-granddaughter, of a current Norfolk Post #16 or Squadron 16 Sons of the American Legion member in good standing. The eligible applicant must be a graduating high school senior.
SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS:
1). PAYWIENT: The $500.00 scholarship is to be paid jointly to the approved school and the scholarship winning student as a one-time payment at the time of the tuition payment for the first semester. The student must have been accepted for enrollment at the approved school. li is a one- time only scholarship to be used during the first semester of enrollment immediately following the year of graduation or the scholarship will be forfeited.
2). USE: The scholarship may be used at any accredited University, College, or a State approved vocational School of the studeni’s choice where he or she has been accepted for study.
3). DEADLINE: The deadline for applications to be delivered to Post #16 is on or before April 15" of the applicant’s senior year in high school.
4). ALTERNATE: If there is more than one qualified applicant for a scholarship, an alternate shall be selected to receive that scholarship award and used in the event the original winning student does not use his or her scholarship award.
5). APPLICATION FORMS: Applicants are to complete the application forms as are provided by the American Legion Post #16 and be neatly hand printed or printed by a computer printer.

Eligibility Criteria. No Exceptions.
1. Must attend a high school located in the United States.
2. Must be in the high school graduating class.
3. All students who meet the eligibility criteria can apply regardless of nationality or citizenship.
4. Must have achieved an unweighted 3.50 CGPA based on a 4.0 Grading Scale.
5. Must provide a current copy of the applicant’s High School Transcript.
6. Must provide an “unsealed” Letter of Recommendation. If an unsealed LOR is not available from an educator, provide from a non-educator.
7. Must enroll in an eligible four-year College or University the first fall semester following high school graduation.
8. The scholarship cannot be used to attend a community college, junior college, or online institution.
9. Must maintain a four year or less graduation schedule, or complete the equivalent of a four year degree if in a professional program.
10. Must work 240 hours from January 1, 2026 until September 1, 2026 to be eligible for a fall semester disbursement. Work must be regularly scheduled non-family employment performed under supervision for compensation. Employment can be full-time or part-time.
11. Parents Adjusted Gross Household Income reported for 2024 Federal Income Tax Purposes must not have exceeded $125,000.
12. U.S. Citizens selected as Finalists must provide the first two pages of their FAFSA Summary. The FAFSA Summary must show the SAI.
13. Non U.S. Citizens selected as Finalists must provide Proof of non-U.S. Citizenship. Copy of Foreign Passport or Green Card.
14. Must apply for Federal and State grants if eligible.
We are Union Pacific Railroad's Latino Employee Network (LEN) resource group. Part of our mission and purpose is to advance the support and understanding of the Hispanic community and culture. As part of this mission, we award scholarships to high school and college students of Hispanic and Latin decent. Over the past four years we have awarded close to $40,000 in scholarships to students across Nebraska and Iowa.

2. This scholarship must be used at Northeast Community College. This scholarship is valued at
$500.00 for the 2025-2026 school year.
3. The applicant’s name should not appear on the application form to insure impartiality in
judging. Each applicant will be assigned a number by their high school counselor.
4. The applications will be judged by a committee composed of Local 1005 Union Members.
5. The applicant shall write a short essay on their personal plans and goals in the future. It shall be
typed, double spaced, and a minimum of at least one page.
The James M. Cox Foundation offers scholarships to students in Nebraska with demonstrated financial need, with particular emphasis on the eastern one‑third of the state. For 2026, the Foundation will award 55 scholarships, each in the amount of $2,000.
Completed applications must be postmarked no later than April 22, 2026 (extended from April 15). A copy of the scholarship application is attached.

For the 10th year, Nebraska Triangle will present scholarships to women and men planning to pursue their higher education within a qualified STEM academic field. The considered fields of study are: Engineering, Architecture, the Physical Sciences, the Biological Sciences, the Computer Sciences, and Mathematics; along with a few related fields.
Any high school student who will be a freshman at UNL, during the Fall 2026 Semester, is eligible. Our scholarships will be awarded under the auspices of the University of Nebraska – Triangle Organization. We will award one $2,000 scholarship, along with multiple smaller scholarships.
The application deadline is Wednesday, June 10, 2026. Interviews will begin in February. Scholarships will be presented at an awards dinner, details of which will be announced.
