True Potential Scholarship
Who can apply for the True Potential Scholarship?
-Immigrants residing in Nebraska and Council Bluffs, Iowa
-Wishing to attend a Community College in Nebraska or Council Bluffs, IA.
The True Potential Scholarship is aimed to help students who want to:
-Work towards a 4 year degree by completing a transfer program at a community college and then going to a university or
-Work towards obtaining a technical degree from a Community College or
-Learn a second language or enroll in any class at a Community College that would help them reach their True Potential.

Southeast Community College Nuclear Energy Scholarship Program
What is the Nuclear Energy Scholarship Program?
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has awarded Southeast Community College a grant to award scholarships for students concentrating in nuclear-related associate degree programs. This scholarship will help meet our project goal of developing a workforce capable of supporting the design, construction, operation, and regulation of nuclear facilities and the safe handling of nuclear materials.
The awards are up to $3,000 per year per eligible student as long as funds are available.
Who Can Apply
Students who are accepted into or enrolled in the following SCC Programs of Study are encouraged to submit a scholarship application:
Energy Generation Operations
Electrical & Electromechanical Technology
Electronic Systems Technology
Manufacturing Engineering Technology

STEM CONNECT Scholarship
STEM CONNECT Scholars will be awarded a renewable scholarship, with a maximum of $8,000 per year, up to four years at UNL or two years at SCC or WNCC followed by an additional two years following the student’s transfer to UNL. We hope to offer up to 62 STEM CONNECT Scholarships to first and second-year students between our three campuses.
The application process for the STEM CONNECT scholarship varies between UNL, SCC and WNCC. At UNL, the application for STEM CONNECT is available through the student's MyRed account under the undergraduate admissions tab. This application is open to all applied or current students who will graduate from high school in May 2020 (or before). Applicants enrolling at UNL also must declare a major in mathematics, computer science, computer engineering or software engineering before the scholarship is awarded, in order to be eligible.
Students applying to SCC or WNCC (and not UNL) will apply for the scholarship via the CSMCE application portal at http://go.unl.edu/scimathapply. The same process applies to current students at SCC and WNCC.
Students enrolling at SCC or WNCC need to enter the Academic Transfer program with STEM-focused career goals that include taking either a math or computer science course each semester. Our Frequently Asked Questions site, https://scimath.unl.edu/stem-connect/faq, describes more about how to apply.

Army National Guard Scholarships
To receive one of these scholarships, you must be involved in the Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP) with a National Guard unit while in school, and have a letter of acceptance from a local Guard unit stating that they will accept you in an SMP status. Following graduation, cadets begin a new Military Service Obligation (MSO) contract and serve eight years in the Guard, which includes training.

American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship
The purpose of The American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship Program is to develop a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the Constitution of the United States on the part of high school students. Other objectives of the contest include the development of leadership qualities, the ability to think and speak clearly and intelligently, and the preparation for acceptance of the duties and responsibilities, the rights and privileges of American citizenship.

James M. Cox Foundation Scholarship
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS: In order to be considered for a scholarship award, you must:
1. Reside in Nebraska, with special consideration given to students residing in the eastern one-third of the state;
2. Demonstrate financial need;
3. Demonstrate a likelihood of academic success in chosen field of study;
4. Attend a Nebraska-based institution of higher learning;
5. Complete and sign the Application;
6. Include a certified copy of your high school transcript;
7. Include two letters of recommendation from instructors, advisors or counselors; and
8. Include an educational commitment essay of no more than 1 page relating to the impact of a higher education
on your permanent career objectives.
9. Other factors, obstacles or extenuating circumstances of the family such as financial burden, medical expenses, death of a parent, and/or disabilities factor into the decision making process.

Good Life Great Journey Scholarship
The Nebraska Department of Transportation is excited to announce the Good Life Great Journey Scholarship Program!
Seeking applicants looking to pursue a career where they can make a real impact, while serving their community with an end goal to help Grow Nebraska! This program is open to individuals interested in embarking on a new career in select hard-to-fill positions at NDOT, while also offering opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Local 1005 Norfolk Fire Division
Scholarship applications are open to any high school senior graduating from a high school within the Elkhorn Valley Mutual Aid District. To include Norfolk, Wayne, Winside, Pierce, Battle Creek, Carroll, Hadar, Hoskins, Stanton, Madison, Meadow Grove, and Tilden.
This scholarship must be used at Northeast Community College. This scholarship is valued at $500.00 for the 2023-2024 school year.

$500.00 Scholarship to any 2024 graduating that is a member of Credit Union or would like to become a member.

NORFOLK EXPRESS SOCCER CLUB SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is funded by the Norfolk Express Soccer Club.
There are two scholarships available, one for a girl and one for a boy, each for $500.
Eligibility Requirements:
Must be a member of the graduation class.
Must have participated in Norfolk Express Soccer Club for a minimum of two (2) years. Must not have participated in a competing soccer club.
Information and Regulations:
The application for the scholarship must be submitted to your high school guidance counselor by:
12:00 pm, Tuesday April 16, 2024.
Selection of the winners will be done by the board of directors of the Norfolk Express Soccer Club. Any member of the board who has a conflict of interest will recuse themselves. All applications will be number coded for identification and names of applicants will be unknown to the Norfolk Express Soccer Club Board until after the selection has been made.
The award certificate and check will be given to the high school guidance counselor, for presentation to the winner at an appropriate awards ceremony held by the winners’ high school.
The Norfolk Express Soccer Club Board will judge each applicant on the following criteria.

Norfolk City Education Scholarship (NCEA)
The NCEA will award one $250.00 scholarship to a student whose parent or guardian is a current member of NCEA.

The Student-View Scholarship
The Student-View Scholarship is a unique opportunity for high school seniors.
It is open to all students regardless of academic achievement or financial need.
One (1) individual prize of a $10,000 scholarship.
Two (2) individual prize of a $1,000 scholarship.
Five (5) individual prizes, consisting of $500 scholarships each
It is exceptionally easy to apply:

Simply complete a 15-25 minute online survey about local colleges. You will then be automatically entered into a random drawing for a scholarship award.

Horatio Alger Scholarship High School seniors seeking a technical degree.
Lower Elkhorn Natural Resources District Scholarship
The Lower Elkhorn Natural Resources District has established a scholarship program for graduating high school seniors. There are up to four scholarships available amounting to $500 each for four seniors who are planning to further their education in a natural resources or agriculture related field. To be eligible for a scholarship the student must meet the following criteria:
The student must be a graduating high school senior who resides or whose family owns land within the Lower Elkhorn Natural Resources District.
The student must have an overall grade point average of a 2.0, or higher, on a 4.0 grading scale at the end of the first semester of his/her senior year in high school.
The student must attend an accredited college, community college or vocational school the semester following graduation.
The student must direct his/her course study towards curriculum related to natural resources or agriculture.
The student must submit an application to the Lower Elkhorn NRD by Friday, April 19, 2024.

The scholarship program hopes to identify and encourage talented and thoughtful students who may emerge as agriculture leaders.
Scholarship Award
