Powerful Resumes

Resume

We strongly recommend senior students to have an activities resume. This can be a huge time saver when it comes to filling out scholarships. Many scholarships will allow you to just attach your resume instead of having to complete this on every application. The resume will also help you to remember what you have accomplished! While there are many scholarships based on academic merit, there are even more scholarships that look at community service as an outstanding quality.

Do you remember the Activities Resume we started your 10th grade year on the College Access Day? You should head back to educationquest.org (link below), sign into your account, and update your activities resume! Can't think of one thing you have done in the past year that should go on the activities resume? Maybe that should be a sign to get out there and do some volunteering or join a club (see below). Community Service

Volunteering is very important for character building in young students, and it is an excellent item to be able to place on resumes for college and scholarship applications. Additionally, many schools have a community service requirement for their government classes. Finding a way to help the community in a way that students are passionate about will make the students’ work more effective and powerful. Volunteering is how students can make an impact upon their communities for the better. This site will help volunteer students, the volunteer organizations, and the community. Check out this website below designed to help you find opportunities to volunteer!
