Career Coaching

Some students know exactly what they want to do in the future and it is something they have wanted to do since they were a child. Some may have a few ideas of things that interest them but still aren’t sure what speaks to them the most. And, some have absolutely no idea what it is they want to do. All of this is okay! It’s daunting to figure out what you want to do with life after high school or college and, in fact, many adults will make a major change in their careers at some point.

We work with students through an interview process and interest assessments to help them determine some areas of potential that may be a good fit for them. From this information, students can explore a variety of brief informational videos that will give them an overview of different types of jobs. Often, we will place students in job shadows to spend some time with a local professional learning first-hand what a typical day might look like in a particular discipline. We also have field trips that align with various careers and interests, and we will encourage students to participate to gain more information. Overall, we work with the student to narrow their interests and get as much information as possible about what a particular career looks like so they can make informed decisions.
