Explore Google-curated virtual tours and videos that connect with a variety of museums, galleries and interesting locations around the world. Students can "walk" through the collection, watch related videos and read resources. Text automatically displays in the default language of your computer or device.
All content can be accessed without a registered account, but a Google account is required to create favourites and collections.

Big book: Using large pieces of paper or whatever you have at home, put together 5 pieces of paper to make a big book. Everyday, listen to the story together. On the first day, have your child draw a self portrait. This will be the cover. The title can be, God Loves Me. Re-listen to the story everyday. Each day after listening, talk to your child about something that God loves about them. Have them draw a picture and write a sentence. For example, God loves my long brown hair; or God loves how fast I can ride my bike; or God loves how nice I am to my baby sister each day.
Grade 3: You can write a descriptive paragraph about yourself. What are all the features that God gave you that make you YOU?
Success Criteria for a Paragraph:
I can write a topic sentence. It introduces my topic to my audience.
I can write 3 or 4 supporting details that are linked to my topic sentence.
I can include adjectives that describe me so the reader can paint a picture in their mind
I can use time order words or transitional words (first, then, next, also)
I can write a closing sentence that sums up my point to my paragraph.

Day 1: Listen to the story. After reading, discuss with an adult why you think the author called the story, "Knots on a Counting Rope?"
Day 2: Re-listen to the story. Using paper and pencil or a google doc, answer the following question:
How do you think the boy's family felt when he was born? Use your own thinking. Gr. 1 use one example from the text and 2 examples for grade 2 &3. Draw a picture from the story.
Day 3: Re-listen to the story. Discuss with your family about when you were born. Draw a picture and write about how they felt when you were born.
Day 4: Re-listen to the story. Answer the following question:
What did the grandpa mean by the boy having a black curtain over his eyes? Use your own thinking and examples from the text.
Day 5:
Grade 1: Answer the following: How would you describe the boy? Use an example from the text that supports your answer
Grade 2&3: Describe two characteristics of the boy and support your thinking with examples from the text.
Science & Language: Click on the picture to get the link to Time For Kids. Read the article. Use your reading strategies to figure out unknown words. if you cannot figure it out, ask an adult for help and then re-read the sentence.
Research to discover an endangered species that you are interested in. Grade 1: Draw pictures and write some sentences about your animal or create a little book.
Grade 2&3: Draw a picture and write a paragraph about your endangered species.

You can create your own book. Go for a walk and collect a variety of leaves. Use crayon resist or real leaves and create animals or scenes in your story that Leaf man blows by, over or through. Remember, a story has a beginning, middle, and end.
