We warmly invite you to join us in learning the wonderful Japanese martial art of Judo (the gentle way).
Judo was created in 1882 by Jigaro Kano and is now one of the most popular sports in the world with an estimated 20 million judoka worldwide.
The aim of Judo is to throw or pin your opponent to the ground with a range of throwing and grappling techniques. It is an Olympic and Commonwealth Games sport as well as a practical martial art designed to be practiced by anyone aged 6 years or older - both male and female.
Judo would appeal to anyone interested in learning self-defence techniques, developing self-confidence, improving balance and co-ordination and increasing physical fitness in a friendly supportive way.
Call us on 022 029 5083 or email us at info@npajudo.org to arrange a visit.
All are welcome.
The New Plymouth Academy of Judo is a fully registered club with Judo New Zealand and is a member of the North Wellington Judo area.
