Blogging is an informal platform to share personal thoughts, feelings or media that expresses the author's current mood. It works as a kind of public diary or documentation of their life. Using the Weebly platform below, students will sign in with their personal login (first initial, last name, and 2020, ie, jleeke2020) and a password Ms. Leeke will provide. From there, students will be able to customize and design their site and begin to post.
For the next two weeks, students will need to blog about something for at least four days a week (does not have to be consecutive or always a school day, just four days). Use pictures, videos, etc, and write about whatever strikes them. Pull on past experience of first person, descriptive writing, and declarative writing from journalism, to craft little segments and posts. Write about your current isolation, how you spent spring break, plans for the future, something funny you saw, etc. If you want to write more, do so! This complete assignment will be a Test grade for this quarter, so please devote more time and effort than a sentence or two. The best kinds of blog posts have some sort of story to them and a form of media like a video or photos. A lot of blogs are also themed, so if that is something that appeals to you more, then make a basketball themed one or a cooking blog, or a blog about cute dogs you see in public. Whatever you like!
Additionally, students will need to comment on their classmate's blogs. You will need to comment on at least two posts a week. This also will be a homework grade. I look forward to seeing what you choose to do!
