This quarter, we will be reading two short stories by Flannery O'Connor for our outside reading.
The first is called "A Good Man is Hard to Find," and the second, "Good Country People."
O'Connor was an ardent Catholic and southern writer in the 20th century. She wrote about the nature of evil and original sin, as well as aspects about country life and small town people.
Due to the research paper being our main assignment this quarter, there will be no outside reading paper for this book. Instead, there will be a Test on May 12th. This test will be a two full pages written response to the two stories and a few articles about the fallen-ness of mankind and deception.
Please be sure to read these two stories thoroughly. Both stories can be found at the Google Doc links below. I have also included an audio file of "A Good Man is Hard to Find."
