 English Language Arts 9 Double Block

Credit: 1 English credit for graduation + 1 Elective Credit (Lab)

Prerequisite: Placement in course by 8th grade teacher based on state test scores and teacher recommendation

This English 9 course is taught over two, back to back, periods per day.  The first period of the course, the intervention lab, is designed to help students strengthen their reading fluency, comprehension, and basic writing skills.  These skills are foundational to English success.  The second period, which is needed for graduation, is used to teach students the 9th grade level content standards for English Language Arts.
