OPOTA
The Division of Wildlife’s mission is to conserve and improve fish and wildlife resources and their habitats for sustainable use and appreciation by all. Land acquisition, harvest regulations, and licensing are fundamental tools in the management of Ohio's wildlife resources. The division manages or cooperates in managing over 750,000 acres of diverse wildlife lands throughout the state, plus more than 2 1/4 million acres of water. Based on biological data and public input, it issues regulations that supplement long-term statutes to protect wildlife and to provide the public with opportunities to benefit from wildlife for recreational, scientific, and other purposes.
Division of Wildlife projects are carried out by a team of nearly 400 trained personnel. Funds from Ohio sportsmen and women provide 95 of every 100 dollars which pay for all these activities. The Division faces many challenges in the pursuit of its goal to ensure an abundance of high quality wildlife experiences for today's Ohioans and for future generations.

Although personnel strength varies, the Patrol maintains a uniformed complement of about 1,600 officers. In addition, about 1,000 support personnel, including load limit inspectors, motor vehicle inspectors, motor carrier enforcement inspectors, dispatchers, electronics technicians, and civilian specialists complete the Patrol's personnel strength. An all-volunteer auxiliary force, originally formed during World War II to assist officers after many entered the armed services, continues to donate thousands of hours of service to the citizens of Ohio.
From the ranks of our road troopers, we train and maintain a number of officers in specialized law enforcement positions. Among these are: plainclothes investigators; traffic and drug interdiction teams and canine officers; commercial enforcement coordinators, inspectors, and crash reconstructionists. The Patrol also maintains a special response team, comprised of road troopers who are specially trained in weapons and chemical agent use, extraction techniques, and rapid response methods.
Routine operations are conducted almost exclusively from automobiles. However, the Patrol also utilizes SUVs, fixed-wing aircraft, and helicopters in the course of its duties. A fully equipped command vehicle, which can operate as a mobile patrol post, is maintained in a constant state of readiness to respond to natural disasters, civil unrest, and other emergencies requiring extended Patrol presence.

In each of the eighty-eight counties in Ohio, the sheriff is the chief law enforcement officer. His primary duties are to provide court services, operate a county jail and provide full police services to the unincorporated portions of the county. However, he maintains full police jurisdiction in all the municipalities, villages, and townships. In an effort to become consistent statewide, Ohio Sheriffs and Deputies wear a standardized uniform and all patrol vehicles are marked in the same manner. Current opportunities include Corrections Officers who are responsible for the security of the jail.
In addition, Stark County deputies:
Transport over 3,500 to 4,000 prisoners yearly to various county courts as well as to state institutions.
Dispatch all emergency calls from the Sheriff's Office, Plain twp Fire, Dog Warden, Hartville Police, and the Park Rangers.
Maintain the Sheriff's Emergency Response Team (SERT) consisting of specially trained hostage negotiators, dive team, and special weapons team.
Support the Corrections Emergency Response Team (CERT) who are specially trained in cell extractions, riot control, and jail emergencies.

The Marine Corps mission reflects every Marine's purpose. In essence, our Nation is that purpose. In our world, in ourselves, and in our way, there are conflicts, challenges, and obstacles that must be fought confidently and defeated convincingly for our Nation to prevail. These looming battles come in many forms and occur on many fronts, but each comes down to a critical choice: to demand victory or accept defeat. To pull together or fall apart. To give in or cave in. It is a decision each Marine conveys to our Nation with each battle won.
