Assisting a crew on jobs that involve tree pruning and tree removal. Qualified applicants will be trained on how to safely manage and remove tree material while it is being lowered down from a tree. The employee will learn how to safely operate a wood chipper, chainsaw, mini skid-steer, and extension trimming tools. The employee will also learn how to safely utilize and control rope-rigging devices. All employees will be trained on and required to drive a heavy-duty truck. The employee will learn to set up safety equipment on job sites. The employee must be able to work 40 - 50 hours per week and have reliable transportation.

Insulators Local 84 was chartered in 1927, and throughout its history, has seen a steady growth in membership, including through amalgamation with an Insulator Local in Youngstown, which occurred in 2000. To this day, Local 84 thrives as one of the successful Insulator Locals in Ohio, serving the central and eastern regions of the state.
This 16-county jurisdiction includes: Ashland, Ashtabula, Carroll, Columbiana, Coshocton, Harrison, Holmes, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Richland, Stark, Summit, Trumbull, Tuscarawas and Wayne counties. Members of Insulators Local 84 have proudly worked on major projects within their territory, including helping build the original Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, the Hall’s renovation and Johnson Controls Hall of Fame Village. While constructing the original Hall of Fame museum and stadium in 1963, all building trades Locals who manned the job were issued one “share” from The Hall, which is on display in our offices.
