Service Hours are not a graduation requirement at Noble Academy. However, as an NCAIS School, Noble Academy students are eligible to earn an NCAIS Service Learning Award. The NCAIS Service Learning Award recognizes students across North Carolina’s independent schools who demonstrate a sustained commitment to meaningful service within their communities. Rooted in the missions and values of each participating school, the award celebrates students who engage thoughtfully, ethically, and consistently in service activities that deepen their understanding of community responsibility and global citizenship.
Students who would like to be considered for an NCAIS Service Learning Award must log their service hours in FACTS. The parameters for what types of service Noble Academy will count towards this award are listed in this document.
Noble Academy will check the logged service hours to make sure that they meet the defined parameters and will delete entries that do not.
Step 1: Log into FACTS Family Portal , click on Family Home
Step 2: Make sure the Family Member Dropdown is set to the Child's Name. Then Click "Add +"
Step 3: Fill out the form to add your hours.
Date: this will only accept one date at a time. If you want to input the sum of the SAME service opportunity across multiple dates at a time, enter under the last date and write an explanation in the note. IE: if I worked at the food bank 1 hour every Saturday in December, I could enter those as 4 separate entries, or I could enter "12/27/2025; 4 hours; Note: worked 1 hour for 4 Saturdays"
Hours: enter as full hours or round to the nearest .5 hour
Description: There is a dropdown which says [type custom value] which will then allow you to type the name of the organization for which you completed your service hours.
Note: type a brief description of your service work (ex: stuffed snack bags or cleaned up trash, etc)
Verified by: List the name of someone at the organization who supervised or approved your service work. This should be someone associated with the organization, and should be someone other than a parent.
Only Service Hours that meet the above requirements should be entered in FACTS. You may perform other acts of service that fall outside of these parameters, but if you are tracking those, you should do so separately. FACTS keeps a running total of the hours that you enter, which you will be able to see as well as the school. If the school needs clarification on any of your entries, someone will reach out to you directly.
Step 4: Notify the front desk if you are close to one of the below totals. Noble Academy will check service hours entries periodically, but in order to ensure that we have correctly identified all of our students who met these requirements, please notify the front desk when you are getting close to one of the award levels so that we will have time to check the entries.
