The history of music includes many important eras, including the Middle Ages, Renaissance, Baroque, and Classical eras. The development of music notation by the Guido of Arezzo in 1040 CE allowed for more complex compositions.
Music has continued to evolve as new technology transform how we store and listen to music. The first song that was ever created was "Hurrian Hymn" and is the earliest known song to be recorded in writing, dating to around the 13th century BCE. The text of this hymn is concerned with the promotion of fertility, or having babies. The first pop song that was ever made was called " After the ball" by Charles Harries. It was written in 1891 and debuted in 1892. Sheet music was one of the metrics to determine the popularity.
Why was music created? The reason is because music was likely basic needs were scare. The first genre of music that was made was "Oral singing" is likely the earliest form of music, followed by organized sound like instruments which could have been developed at a later stage. For example, the musical bow is regarded as one of the early instruments of the Khoisan in southern Africa . The first recorded song was " Edouard-Leon Scott de Martinville In 1857.
