Votebuilder Policies

As of January 1st, 2020, exports from Votebuilder have been restricted to state administrative approval only. This is in light of recent events in election security, as well as from lessons learned in past elections. Aside from security concerns, there are several other reasons why exports have been restricted:

• Data that is exported is regularly not re-entered into Votebuilder

• Exported data is not tracked and can therefore be distributed freely, which can trigger campaign finance violations

• Most tasks that users export data for can be done entirely in Votebuilder, such as phonebanking and mailing labels

Currently, there are a few request types that we can approve:

• Third-party mailing services

• Digital matching

• Polling services and robocalling

For each of these services, the request must be submitted with the name of the vendor and the services being provided. When requests are submitted, we try to get them approved within an hour, but please be patient with our team. If you have an urgent export you need to have approved, please email us at data@nmdemocrats.org and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
