Webpaint

What if a website you're projecting could also be used as a note-taking or presentation tool?

Web Paint provides easy-to-use drawing tools that let you draw shapes, lines, and add text to live web pages, and gives you the ability to take screenshots once finished to post for later. This is useful both in teaching in-person and virtually. This is good for anyone to use, not just teachers, who want to mark up websites for his or her own needs. I can also see this being good for students who want to use the marker feature to eliminate multiple choices on digital tests (like a cross out).

Dictation for Gmail (Voice to Text)

Typing a long email takes a toll on your hands. Why not use your voice instead?

Download the Dictation for Gmail extension and be able to have the option to speak your emails.

Fullscreen Interactive Google Slides

This extension allows you to make a Google Slideshow full screen while still staying in editing mode. So if you are using the slide show to manipulate shapes, text, etc., you can still keep it in editing mode, but make it larger for the students to see.

You can download the extension here

BONUS: If you go to file -> full screen on your Google Slides, you can even get rid of the extra Google tools if you are not using them!

Record with EdPuzzle

EdPuzzle has a new feature that allows you to be able to record videos and directly put them into EdPuzzle. This could take the place of using Loom or Screencastify.

You can either install the extension from the Chrome Web Store, or use the “Add Content” button in the upper right hand corner to Record Video.

Dualless Chrome Extension (Splitting Screen/Resize Windows)

By now, I am sure you've come to learn to love having an extra monitor for your "command center"

And while some people would love an extra monitor, you can achieve a similar effect by splitting your screen more efficiently. But as you know, it takes more time to resize the tabs/windows, and it's just too tedious. Dualless is a viable solution;  I recommend installing the Chrome Extension Dualless as a way for you to split your screen and control the ratios to meet your needs almost as if you had an extra monitor laying around!

Once it's installed, make sure you pin it to the top by clicking on the puzzle piece (that's where your extensions are). When you're ready to split your screen, click on the extension, then pick the ratio you want.

Print Friendly & PDF Chrome Extension

Have you ever wanted to print out an article, and when you want to hit "preview" you saw an unnecessary (and likely, large) amount of pages? I just went to print out a New York Times article that was 550 words, but it was "16 pages" printed. Of course, it was loaded with advertisements and images that were awkwardly formatted. I thought about all the trees that I could have saved if I just took what I needed...

If you download the Print Friendly & PDF Chrome Extension, you can click to delete any content on the website before printing. You can remove images and text, make the font size larger or smaller, and then either print it out or save it as a PDF.

If you don't want to use the extension, you could simply visit https://www.printfriendly.com/ and copy and paste the URL you want to modify.
