Setting Up Sync for Canvas Assignment Groups

Here's a video to show you how to make sure your grades transfer over from PowerSchool to Canvas (Importing Assignment Groups). You'll have to set this up for each class that you plan on having grades in, and you'll need to do after a new year/semester.

How To Set Up Nightly Sync (Automatic Grading)

Do you want to have your grades automatically sync without you having to think about it? In this video, I show you how to turn on Nightly Sync, which is recommended. Note: You can have this enabled but choose to not have particular assignments sync to the SIS (PowerSchool).

You'll have to set this up for each class that you plan on having grades in, and you'll need to do after a new year/semester.

Making Sure An Assignment Will Sync To SIS (Powerschool)

These are the assignment settings you must turn on if you want an assignment to go over to Powerschool. Be sure to watch it as you want to not miss a little step! If you ever make a mistake, you can go back and make a change and then sync again.

Creating A No Submission Assignment (Like Class Participation)

In this video, I show you how to create an assignment where a student may not be submitting anything, but there needs to be a grade there, like daily participation.

Entering Grades for An Assignment (Gradebook and Speedgrader)

Now that a student has done an assignment, where do I go to grade it? Here is a quick overview of the Canvas gradebook and Speedgrader. Speedgrader is where you can go to grade an individual assignment, your Canvas grade book shows you all assignments at once (like Powerschool). PLease use the filtered views as I suggest in my video to help you sort through what you need to grade at the moment.

Individual Gradebook Syncing and Fixing Mistakes

What if you make a mistake in an assignment? This video shows you how to make a correction. I also show you how to fill all your grades in at once!
