AAAF Memorial Bursary ~ September 1st

Amount: $1000 (1 available in each calendar year for each of the 5 provincial regions of the Association of Alberta Agricultural Fieldmen)

Description:

  • The Association of Alberta Agricultural Fieldmen, as an ongoing tribute to active or retired AAAF members who pass away, and in the spirit of continuing education valued by our Association, created the AAAF Memorial Bursary.

  • The AAAF shall award bursaries on a regional basis upon the consensus of the Agricultural Fieldmen in each region, based on scholastic standing, social and community activities, and chosen program of study.

Criteria:

  • An Alberta resident;

  • Accepted or currently attending a post-secondary institution in Alberta (proof of acceptance required);

  • Accepted or currently enrolled in an agricultural or environmental sciences related program;

  • Have not already been awarded this bursary in another region within Alberta.

  • Although not required, priority will be given to students that have worked for a rural municipality in the past.

  • 300 word or less submission answering the following questions: 1. Why have you chosen to study in an Agricultural or Environmental Science related program? 2. What are your career plans upon graduation?

Sunlife LiveBright Scholarship Program ~ Sept 15th

Amount: $2000 (awarded to 5 students)


Description:

  • The LiveBright Scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate leadership in their communities, understand the importance of gender diversity and strive to achieve academic success.


Criteria:

  • Applicants must be:

  • Residents of Canada who are between the ages of 16-25 or entering their first year of post-secondary education.

  • High school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll in fulltime undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational technical school or equivalent post-secondary school for the entire upcoming academic year.

  • If the applicant is less than 18 years of age at the time of their application, a parent or legal guardian must sign on their behalf.

  • Scholarships are awarded based on:

    • Leadership and participation in school and community activities

  • An understanding of why gender diversity is important within an organization

  • Past academic performance

  • Work experience

  • Other awards or accolades

BluEarth Renewables Scholarship Program (Community Leaders Scholarship) ~ Sept 15th

Amount: up to $3000 per scholarship

  • Our scholarship program is designed to support, educate and inspire the next generation of leaders and professionals who have the power to change the future. We have three scholarship categories to help you achieve your education goals.

  • Building strong communities relies on many people. This scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate a commitment to giving back to their community and making the world a better place for their generation and generations to come.


Criteria:

  • Resident of Canada or the United States

  • Pursuing full-time studies at an accredited Canadian or United States trades or technical school, college or university

  • Applications are reviewed by our selection committee based on your case for financial support, academic merit, community involvement, pursuit of studies that could be transferable to the renewable energy sector and/or environmental stewardship, and proximity to the locations where we live, work and operate (or have development projects).

BluEarth Renewables Scholarship Program (Indigenous Peoples Scholarship) ~ Sept 15th

Amount: up to $3000 per scholarship


Description:

  • Our scholarship program is designed to support, educate and inspire the next generation of leaders and professionals who have the power to change the future. We have three scholarship categories to help you achieve your education goals.

  • We are committed to building mutually-beneficial relationships with Canada’s Indigenous communities. As part of this commitment, we award scholarships to Indigenous students to help develop their skills and knowledge in the renewable energy sector.


Criteria:

  • Resident of Canada or the United States

  • Pursuing full-time studies at an accredited Canadian or United States trades or technical school, college or university

  • member of an Aboriginal community (band or settlement), including First Nations, Metis and Inuit; and proof of Aboriginal Status

  • Applications are reviewed by our selection committee based on your case for financial support, academic merit, community involvement, pursuit of studies that could be transferable to the renewable energy sector and/or environmental stewardship, and proximity to the locations where we live, work and operate (or have development projects).

  • We are committed to helping grow the renewable energy sector and supporting the skilled workers who will lead the way. This scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in a renewable energy trades program.


Criteria:

  • Resident of Canada or the United States

  • Pursuing full-time studies at an accredited Canadian or United States trades or technical school, college or university

  • Enrolled in a renewable energy trades program with a direct focus on wind, hydro or solar energy

  • Applications are reviewed by our selection committee based on your case for financial support, academic merit, community involvement, pursuit of studies that could be transferable to the renewable energy sector and/or environmental stewardship, and proximity to the locations where we live, work and operate (or have development projects).
