The Bentley Awards are funded by two distinguished Albertans who have dedicated much of their lives to serving non-profit entities and the accounting profession.
Criteria:
One award is granted annually to one (1) student in Grade 12 at any Alberta high school. Preference will be given to applicants/nominees who will need to relocate within Alberta in order to attend a post-secondary institution. Selection is based on involvement in volunteer activities, satisfactory academic achievement, and an expressed interest in pursuing a professional accounting designation.
Applicants/nominators must:
submit one application letter on why applicant/nominee should be considered for the award, indicating financial need, and demonstrating express interest of applicant/nominee in pursuing a professional accounting designation;
must have completed Grades 10 and 11 in Alberta and is completing/has completed Grade 12 in Alberta in the year of application;
provide proof of enrollment of applicant/nominee at an Alberta high school;
provide proof of acceptance into an Alberta post-secondary institution offering the courses required to enter a professional accounting designation program;
submit transcripts to demonstrate satisfactory academic standing of applicant/nominee; and
submit at least one nomination letter to demonstrate that the applicant/nominee has a record of involvement in volunteer activities.

In honour of notable members of the Canadian Scholarship Trust family, the CST Foundation provides bursaries to students of all ages who are entering post-secondary education for the first time and whose financial needs may make it difficult for them to access post-secondary education.

Description:
The Premier’s Citizenship Award is one of 3 Alberta Citizenship Awards that recognize students who have contributed to their communities through public service and voluntary endeavour.
The Government of Alberta annually presents one award to a student enrolled in each high school in Alberta. Each recipient receives a letter of commendation from the Premier.
Alberta high schools can each select one recipient for the Premier's Citizenship Award. Grade 12 students wishing to be considered must submit the required application info prior to the May 27th deadline to Mrs. Buchta.
Criteria:
Your application must include the following:
A letter from you, the applicant, outlining how you feel you meet the criteria for the award (details at Premier’s Citizenship Award )
Two letters of reference (no longer than one page each)
A reference from someone who has known you for at least one year either through school or community or volunteer activities, and
A reference from someone who knows you well enough to support and/or elaborate on your activities and initiatives as outlined in the criteria for the award.
The nominee should display outstanding characteristics in:
citizenship
leadership
community service and/or engagement in volunteer work
The nominee should have also demonstrated initiative and have had a positive impact in the community/school.

The Charles Labatiuk Scholarship Award was established through the legacy gift of Charles Labatiuk and the Charles Labatiuk Nature Endowment Fund. Charles Labatiuk was an avid nature conservationist, mountaineer, and world traveler who enjoyed and excelled as a photographer, writer, gardener, and pianist. These awards were introduced to honour his life and his passion for nature.
Criteria:
Any student entering or continuing their studies at an accredited college or university in Canada in the interdisciplinary study of natural environmental systems may apply. Students enrolled in studies focusing on ecosystems, how they operate, and their symbiotic relationship with people are encouraged to apply.

MADD Canada’s Bursary Program is open to Canadian citizens who have themselves been severely injured or who have had a parent (or legal guardian) or sibling killed or severely injured as a result of an impaired driving crash and who are enrolled in a full-time, ministry-approved, post-secondary educational program for the upcoming academic year. Injuries must be catastrophic or severe and have had a significant impact on the applicants’ lives. Proof of injury and relation to impaired driving will be required. The Louise Joanne Twerdy Leadership Bursary in the amount of $10,000 will be awarded to one student each year who aspires to have the same leadership, dedication and compassion that Louise Twerdy exhibited throughout her lifetime
