In Health we continue to talk about our emotions.
We read the story 'Twiggle Learns to Do Turtle' and made turtle puppets.
We practiced the 'Turtle' strategy, which helps us pause, take a breath and calm down when we are experiencing BIG emotions.
Acting out a Math song.
Seven Little Monkeys!
ALWAYS LEARNING AND HAVING SO MUCH FUN!!!
In Religion, we learned about Shrove Tuesday and the tradition of using up ingredients before the season of Lent, which is why it is often called 'Pancake Day'.
We enjoyed doing a fun pancake dance, discussing pancake recipes, and creating our own mini frying pans filled with our favourite pancakes.
Celebrating Valentines
AND
Pajama Day!!!
We continue to explore the beginning, middle and ending of stories.
Here we are using our Story Map to help organize our thinking about
'Sadie and the Snowman' by Allen Morgan.
We watched the Grade Three Friendship Celebration
AND
at the end our Grade Three Buddies surprised us with FRIENDSHIP bracelets.
As part of our Pink Shirt Day learning we read the book Chrysanthemum by Kevin Henkes. We realized that if we wrinkle up a paper heart every time Chrysanthemum feels sad because of others' words or actions and then straighten it out each time she feels happy the paper heart still has wrinkles on it! Our words and actions affect people.
Before you speak, think and be smart. It's hard to fix a wrinkled heart.
A powerful AND valuable lesson for us all!!
Ms. Clancey's Class WEARING PINK
