There are many ways to plan to win at a skirmish or competition!
- Break the game into areas (such as collect blocks, stack blocks, put blocks in towers) then think about how to strategize at these areas using offense and defense. De-scoring others is both offense and defense.
- Read the Game Manual to ensure you know how to maximize points. You can read online or on VRC or VIQ Hub apps.
- Build early to get more time to practice.
- Read this guide on setting up and running a team. Be sure to note the section on keeping an engineering notebook. Keep engineering notebook complete.
- Watch the referee training videos (see links on right).
- Determine which awards you are going to pursue.
- Be sure to practice your autonomous code and your driving with real game pieces as much as possible.
- Practice being interviewed using these sample questions.
- Read the VEX Forums (make an account).
- Check out Tip Tuesdays & follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter!
