The robot battery is also a necessity as without it, none of the electronics will function. The battery can be connected to the robot brain to power the whole robot, and has to be charged using its own charger. The battery can be attached to the robot using the Battery Clips.

The controller is used for the user-control section of the match. All the buttons and joysticks can be user programmed to do any function. It connects to the robot Brain using the Robot Radio.
The Radio is used for the wireless connection between the controller and the Brain, also called VEXnet. The Radio must be connected to the Brain via wire constantly.
