What is V5?
V5 is the electronic system used for the VEX competitions. These are the only electronics allowed in official competitions. There are many components in V5, ranging from motors to controllers. This page will introduce the four necessary components of the V5 System.

The V5 robot brain is a necessity for any robot. It is the processor that executes user programming and is also the hub for connecting with other electronic components. The brain is also where user programs can be downloaded to. The LCD touchscreen is also useful for getting

The robot battery is also a necessity as without it, none of the electronics will function. The battery can be connected to the robot brain to power the whole robot, and has to be charged using its own charger. The battery can be attached to the robot using the Battery Clips.

Controller
Controller
The controller is used for the user-control section of the match. All the buttons and joysticks can be user programmed to do any function. It connects to the robot Brain using the Robot Radio.

The Radio is used for the wireless connection between the controller and the Brain, also called VEXnet. The Radio must be connected to the Brain via wire constantly.
