Honors Spanish 2
Spanish II Honors exceeds the traditional Spanish II level course by including a more in-depth and faster pace study of the language, Spanish history, geography, culture, and literature. A focus on student's oral proficiency level is developed through age-level and culturally authentic resources to enable students to participate in significantly longer dialogues about familiar situations, express and support opinion or preferences using expanded vocabulary, through short statements and complex sentences in written and oral responses. Authentic materials will be read, and longer, directed compositions will be written. This course is enhanced with a variety of print, digital, audio, and audiovisual materials to support language development. Students in Spanish II Honors are expected to reach a novice high to intermediate low level of language proficiency at completion of study. Blended option available at select high schools. See section on blended courses for further clarification about this opportunity.
